When did you start playing Derby?
2009, not long after the league started
How did you get involved?
I was already playing roller hockey and I was convinced to come and check it out
Why do you love Derby?
I love the people.  All the new friends that turn into a 2nd family.  I love that you can hit them, and have a drink and laugh about it afterwards.  Bout nights are also very thrilling.  The crowd cheering really makes you work harder.  It also makes me smile.
What is your favourite post-game drink?
It’s usually a vodka.
Something interesting you think the world should know?
I’m an avid “Skill Tester” Machine junkie with my previous record being 4 stuffed toys in a row, with 2 of them being won in the same grab!

April 2009
How did you get involved?
I saw the Roller Derby Dolls documentary that aired  on ABC in October 08 I’m pretty sure it was and fell deeply in love with the sport.
Why do you love Derby?
It is just RAD.  The game is a rush, the team is amazing.  It’s different to most sports.  It is a very strategic game and I love that it challenges me every day.  I also really really love to skate.
What is your favourite post-game drink?
Scotch and Dry
Something interesting you think the world should know?
gosh I don't know, I have known my guy since I was just 12 years old, we got engaged 11years ago TODAY(21st April)...EEEEEEP
We have had 4 crazy kids together. I love knitting and baking, being creative, drawing, painting...I love having a good ol' bbq, eating rissoles and having a few drinks with mates. I have a weakness for silly mind numbing tv shows like Cougartown, Gilmore Girls etc haha ok that is all...

I’ve known Mick Gedling for over 35years & he asked me if I’d like to come and help out.
Why do you love Derby?
It keeps me involved in skating which I have done and loved for  40+ years.  Having played Roller Hockey and not doing that for the last few years it’s been good to get back on skates and share knowledge, keep fit and skate with Linda (Ruff Red)
What is your favourite post-game drink?
Bourbon
Something interesting you think the world should know?
I have an extra vertebrae in my back  - hence so tall!  Apart from roller hockey I have played for Australia in Broomball (on ice) and competed at World Championships in Canada and America (with Linda).

When did you start playing Derby?
Mid 2010
How did you get involved?
I heard about it at my gym – I had no idea Townsville had a league – went along and fell in love!
Why do you love Derby?
It’s such a different sport – and I’ve always been a little bit different!  I love the fitness aspect of training and the adrenaline rush of a bout.  And of course, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new extended family – everyone in the team is just awesome!
What is your favourite post-game drink?
A nice cold Bourbon & Coke!
Something interesting you think the world should know?
I’m actually the least interesting person I know J  My 2 amazing kids are my greatest achievement – and I’m disgustingly happy with my boyfriend of 8 years.  But Derby continues to bring out my more interesting side – watch this space!!

When did you start playing Derby?

How did you get involved?
Robert [my husband] joined TVRD to Ref and Mick [Coach] asked if I’d like to be a part of it too.
Why do you love Derby?
It keeps Robert and I skating together.   We met at skating 34 years ago and only stopped a couple of years ago.  I have played for Australia at the Women’s World Roller Hockey Championships in Portugal and Argentina and it was sad for me not to skate in the last few years.  It’s nice to be back doing it with Robert and keeping fit.
What is your favourite post-game drink?
             Red  Wine (Shiraz)
Something interesting you think the world should know?
I am a “Psycho Sleeper” -  I walk, talk & randomly sit up in bed and stare (mostly at Robert!).  Apart from Roller Hockey, I have also played for Australia in Broomball and competed at the World Championships in Canada (with Robert).
